PAXcam Digital Imaging products will be featured in booth #429 at the upcoming US & Canadian Academy of Pathology Annual Meeting, Seattle WA, March 14-16. “T he MIS vendor booth will feature the roll-out of a brand new product specifically designed for gross imaging in the pathology lab,” says Tom Vuke, VP of Corporate Sales. “This exciting new PAXcam features a workflow designed for hands-free, easy operation– an essential element when grossing specimens.” By utilizing a footswitch-controlled motorized zoom lens, coupled with auto-focus and auto-exposure functions, still images are captured hands-free from the stunning HD live preview directly to the desired location—on the server, to PowerPoint, to the managed PAX-it collection of images, and more. User-defined PAXcam presets add to the flexibility and usefulness of the automated system. Up to 30 presets may specify zoom level, camera conditions, placement of scale bars and other overlays on images, and other aspects of how images are to be handled when captured.
“The new PAXcam MacroZoom camera for capturing gross images is just one part of the PAX-it solution,” Mr. Vuke continues. “Touch-screen friendly markup tools and measurement tools are available, as well as the power of the PAX-it software for managing and sharing images throughout the lab.” Gross images from the new system are easily combined with micro images if desired, in a shared, networkable common collection. Both gross and micro PAXcam solutions will be featured at the USCAP 2016 Annual Meeting, as well as the PAXcam CONNECT live-streaming telepathology solution. Systems for every size lab and lab budget are available, and are expandable to PAX-it’s additional supporting modules of software, including image analysis, motorized microscopy, scripting, and custom programming.
